Reliability of Satellite TV systems

Digital to anaglog.

This one phrase has become the fear of every person with an older tv set with over the air antenna modules.

I can personally say that I will attest to the reliability of satellite tv... I own in my own home a dual dvr system from Dish Network and don't even know what I did before I had it. I can set up a weeks worth of shows to record on more than one tv and then watch them on my days off with the ability to skip commercials.

One of the biggest concerns with satellite tv is that the signal is not reliable in bad weather - unless there is a tornado next to your house, or it has snowed enough to make the Shining look like a light dusting, the signal stays pretty constant.

My parents currently have DirecTV and it is an okay system as well. They do not have the duo dvr system and you have to pay for additional tv hookups (5.99 a month) but overall, it functions almost as well.
